WHAT WE DO
Doña Ana Soil and Water Conservation District (DASWCD) is authorized by the Soil and Water Conservation District Act (73-20-25 through 73-20-48 NMSA 1978) https://bit.ly/2VGPz87 to conserve and develop the natural resources of the state, provide for flood control, preserve wildlife, protect the tax base and promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the people of Doña Ana County. DASWCD is a governmental subdivision of the State of New Mexico.

What could more sustainable funding mean for local conservation?
If approved, the proposed mill levy would provide DASWCD with a more consistent source of funding to support its staff, programs, and conservation work across the District.
From tree planting and rainwater harvesting to soil health and additional staff capacity, the funding could help DASWCD continue existing efforts while expanding the conservation resources available to local communities.
